legalisations
What are legalisations?
Diplomatic legalization : Legalization is an administrative act that grants validity to a foreign public document, which verifies the authenticity of the signature that appears on it, the quality in which the signatory of the document that acted and, where applicable, the identity of the seal that the document bears. Legalization is limited to the recognition and accreditation of a signature and, therefore, does not imply responsibility for the content of the document or its subsequent destination.
As a general rule, Spanish and foreign public documents that must take effect, respectively, abroad and in Spain, must be previously legalized. However, certain international conventions simplify the legalization procedure and even exempt from the obligation to legalize certain documents.

This process involves the validation of documents issued in one country by its consulate or embassy in another country. Consular legalization ensures that documents are officially recognized in the country where they will be presented. This process is essential to guarantee the authenticity of personal and civil documents.
M.A.E. Legalizations (Ministry of Foreign Affairs): In many countries, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is the entity responsible for the legalization of documents. This ministry verifies the authenticity of documents and, in some cases, can issue apostilles according to the Hague Convention, simplifying the legalization process for international use.
