The homologation of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and the Baccalaureate.
The homologation of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO) and Baccalaureate refers to the process by which a degree or educational certificate obtained in an EU country is recognized as equivalent to the Spanish ESO and Baccalaureate.
Key Aspects of the Homologation of Degrees
Objective: The objective of homologation is to guarantee that degrees obtained in other countries have the same value and recognition as national degrees, thus facilitating mobility and the exercise of regulated professions.
Homologation Process:
Application: Interested persons must submit an application to the competent authority in the country where they wish to have their title recognized.
Documentation: This includes the presentation of documentation proving the degree and its sworn translation, the payment of fees as well as information on the content of the studies carried out.
Evaluation: The authority will evaluate whether the degree is equivalent to the corresponding Spanish degree.
Resolution: A resolution is issued that may be favorable, recognizing the title, or unfavorable, indicating the lack of equivalence.
Recognition allows students and professionals who have obtained their degrees in other member countries to continue their training or work in another member state without significant barriers, thus facilitating a more effective integration within the European labor market, access to vocational training courses or university exams: Security Guard, Correos, Renfe, etc.
Consult the procedures of the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports.
The approval or validation of vocational training studies is the responsibility of the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training except if the applicant resides in the territorial area of the Autonomous Communities of Galicia, Catalonia or the Basque Country, in which case the applicant must contact the corresponding competent unit of that autonomous community.
